Coast Union High School rests in pasture land fringed with tall trees, about three miles from the Pacific Ocean near the village of Cambria. It serves a student population of the coastal communities of Cayucos, Cambria, San Simeon, and surrounding areas and has an enrollment of approximately 250 students. CUHS is a California Distinguished School, U.S. News and World Report Silver Medalist, and listed as one of Newsweek’s Best American High Schools. CUHS is one of the first public high schools in California to distribute iPads to students on a 1:1 ratio. Class meet in Block Schedule with students attending 8 classes, four classes meeting on an alternating A/B schedule for 88 minute periods. CUHS has a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and sports teams in addition to its extensive list of college preparatory academic courses.

I am excited and honored to serve our students, families, and staff as your new Principal, and look forward to a great year at Coast Union High School. Our commitment is to provide a safe environment and academically challenging experience that will empower students to become innovative thinkers, creative problem-solvers and compassionate citizens prepared to succeed in the twenty-first century.
Coast Union parents and guardians, I encourage you to become and/or remain involved in your children’s school life. Support, join, and participate in all the great things happening here. Along with the faculty, administration, and support staff, you too are leaders of learning, and play a vital role in the development of our students. Connect with teachers regularly.
