AFS Enchilada Sale

American Field Service students Hayley Barnes - Argentina, Sarah Wright - Spain and Matt Kendrick - Costa Rica will be selling enchiladas to raise funds to help pay for their tuition while studying abroad. Beef, chicken or cheese enchiladas may be purchased in advance and and picked up on May 1 between 12 and 2 pm at the High School for $7.00 per order (2 enchiladas). Please contact Kathy Barnes at the District Office 927-6135 or Sharon Bisso at the High School if you would like to purchase tickets.

Coast Union High School Drama Club Presents

Seussical the Musical

“After all of those years being stuck on a page, did you ever imagine you’d see me on stage?” So asks the mischievous Cat in the Hat to begin the fantastical musical extravaganza that is Seussical. The colorful world of Dr. Seuss comes alive on Friday, March 19th when Seussical the Musical opens at Coast Union High School. The show continues through Sunday, March 28. Seussical weaves together many of Dr. Seuss’ most famous stories and characters in unexpected ways with a score by the Tony Award winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Horton the Elephant is the soft-spoken hero in a magical world populated with many favorite Seuss characters like The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie La Bird, and a little child with a big imagination-Jojo, in a story that will delight both young and old.

The show runs March 19-21 & 26-28. Show times are 7pm on Friday and Saturday, 5pm on Sundays. Tickets are $20 for reserved seating, $15 general admission and $10 for students. Tickets will be available at the Cambria Chamber of Commerce and the Coast Union High School office.

CUHS Booster Club Reverse Drawing

The 30th Annual Reverse Drawing is the CUHS Booster Club’s biggest fundraiser. It draws a huge crowd- all hoping to win the grand prize of $5,000. We sell 200 tickets to the event; each ticket costs $100 and comes with 2 dinners and a chance to win. Winning tickets receive great prizes including wine, gift certificates, or cash. The last 10 ticket number holders are invited onstage for the final drawing for $5,000. Will they all agree to split… or gamble on??? It is an exciting evening.

Many volunteers lighten the load. Chairperson Toni Mertens will be recruiting solicitors, ticket sellers, and crews for set-up, serving, and clean up soon. If you would like to volunteer (instead of being drafted!) or have a connection/suggestion for an exciting donation for our raffle, please give Toni Mertens a call at 924-1808.
